Anyway, when this is the hand your Sunday deals you, you are best off going home and do this:

Butternut squash and white bean soup with cinnamon and ground ginger. Add a sprinkling of crispy bacon, and this soup will warm you to the core…!

Ingredients:

1 Butternut squash

1 tin white beans

1 onion

2-3 cloves of garlic

1 litre vegetable stock

Dash of soy douce (pictured above!)

Ground cinnamon and ginger to taste (quite a bit though)

Salt and pepper to taste

Chop butternut squash and onion roughly, drain and rinse beans and put in a large pot and add the vegetable stock. Add the garlic, salt and pepper. Bring it to a boil. Turn down the heat and simmer until the beans and squash are soft and mushy. Add cinnamon and ginger, and whizz it all smooth with a hand mixer. Add splash of soy sauce, stir it al together and sprinkle with crispy bacon pieces.

Yum!! Almost as yummy as this:
